GetZoned Based on Award-Winning Article

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

openerIn 2001, I wrote an article about adapting Ansel Adams’ Zone System to digital cameras for digitalFOTO. Later that year I was awarded a Maggie Award for that article — I was cited as the writer of the “best how-to article in a consumer magazine” for that year

Unfortunately, digitalFOTO was later discontinued and, likewise, this award-winning article can no longer be found. My latest App, GetZoned picks up where this award-winning article left off — most of the material has been updated to today’s digital cameras and extra features, like a set of digitally-mastered Zone test cards, have been added.

GetZoned is on sale for 99 cents.

GetZoned Rejected

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Picture 1My latest App, GetZoned, has been rejected by the Apple iTunes App Store for displaying pricing information. The actual rejection notice said:

“Thank you for submitting GetZoned to the App Store. We’ve reviewed GetZoned and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store because your application contains pricing information in the application and/or marketing text (Application Description / Release Notes).  Providing specific pricing information in these locations may lead to user confusion because of pricing differences in countries.  It would be appropriate to remove pricing information from these locations.”

The recommended corrections have been made and the App resubmitted for approval.
